In our Freshman Experience class we have been trained and educated for a long time on HIV/AIDS. Then when they thought we were ready they selected the best presentations, I got chosen. Today was our first experience on our presentations; we had gone to Madison Middle School. I was able to present today to a class and i was astonished. All the students were on their best behavior, and i had a great experience with these students. I think that we did make an influence on the students because they look up to high school students and were there role models. When i was leaving the class i reminded the students to use protection and a student told me "I'll use it if you use it!". I was really inspired by this because it was true what Ms. Nadel told me, they do look up to us. I also think this is very important to go out to schools and show our knowledge on HIV/AIDS to students because they need to know what is out there and how to avoid it. I know i did inspire some students in the class i presented in because they looked at us like older brother and sisters and they did pay attention to the information we were giving them. Today was a great experience and i would love and have no problem doing it again to show other students and maybe we can make a difference.
